How TIME & Statista selected the top GreenTech companies

This prestigious list recognizes 250 of the top sustainability-focused companies driving positive impact within the GreenTech industry. The companies on the final list were selected from over 4,600 US-based organizations that focus on developing and providing green technologies, products, or services that help mitigate or reverse the impact of human activities on the environment.

Companies were evaluated based on their sustainability, innovation, growth, and overall impact, with the top 250 companies named to the list. The organizations recognized here are not only leaders in their fields but also pioneers driving the transition to a more sustainable future, and we’re honored to be included among them.

Our commitment to a sustainable energy future

Our mission to run the grid 24/7 on clean energy is an endeavor made both possible and imperative by two major transitions currently happening.

First, the world is electrifying – and our aging grid isn’t up to the task. From electric vehicles to data centers, the United States is demanding more energy than ever before. Producing power is cheaper than ever before, but these advances are throttled by outdated infrastructure: Electricity costs are rising, while reliability goes down. 

Second, electricity supply is decarbonizing: Wind and solar generation continue to grow, offering clean power at lower costs. In tandem, distributed energy resources (DERs) like rooftop solar, electric vehicles, and other smart technology are becoming commonplace, changing how consumers interact with the grid. But these advancements too have limitations: We can’t control when the sun shines and the wind blows, meaning variability in renewable sources still leaves us reliant on fossil-fuel generation to keep the lights on. 

If we can truly harness the power of renewables, we can solve these problems to deliver a grid that’s reliable, affordable, and completely fossil-fuel free. We believe DERs are the key.
